About us

Apple Gears was started by Peter White, the managing director of Transpower Drives in 1984, with the purpose to complement the work being carried out by Transpower Drives. Then in 1994, they acquired a local engineering company that specialised in gear manufacture, Rochester Gears, of Rushden. This allowed them to expand and increase the product range available to their customers. At this time the company changed its name to Apple Rochester Gears. Due to the expansion of the company, it became necessary to relocate to larger premises at Lloyds Close, in Wellingborough.

Apple Gears has achieved steady growth through to the present day. So, from its early beginnings in a 315 sq. ft, unit the company completed its final move to its present home, next to its parent company Transpower Drives at Bridle Close in Wellingborough. We now occupy 4 adjacent units totalling some 12,000 sq. ft.
